With beautiful views of the Blackwater and admirable sights of the heritage town of Lismore, the Kelly Cruise is an enjoyable cycle along the gentle, flat plains.
The Kelly Cruise
The Kelly Cruise is a gentle tester for those who spend a good bit of time in the saddle. For those, however, who are not used to doing much cycling, this is a really good test, and particularly suitable for family participation with roads being alot flatter.

- Begin your route in Dungarvan and from here travel along the N72 towards Cappoquin.
- Upon reaching Cappoquin admire the splendid views of the Blackwater as you continue up through Cook Street turning left towards the beautiful heritage town of Lismore, where again wonderful views of the Blackwater and Lismore Castle and Gardens are afforded on entering the town.
- The route will then begin to turn eastwards in the direction of Dungarvan along the south bank of the river Blackwater through the townland of Kilbree and once again crossing the river at the Boathouse in Cappoquin.
- On the return journey riders will take the R669 Melleray Road briefly for 1.5kms before turning south and crossing the Glenshelane River.
- Riders would be well recommended to take a breather in this lovely wooded picnic area. After Glenshelane you can continue the journey back to the N72 and return eastwards towards your starting point in Dungarvan. The flat nature of this course can be borne out by the fact that it rises from about 5 metres above sea-level to a mere high point of 60 metres.
