The Kilmaloo Walk begins at the Grotto in the village of Clashmore. Head uphill past the Thatched Cottage and GAA grounds and along the road on your left you will find the old Lime Kiln where limestone was burned for the local agriculture industry. Heading down the hill and crossing Ballyheeny Bridge you can catch a glimpse of Ballyheeny Castle. Continuing on and keeping to the left at the junction, the road begins to go uphill, eventually reaching two Ice Houses and an Ice Lough, which was used for ice skating in the past. After heading over the Lickey Bridge, turn left and 500 metres up the road turn right and this will bring you back to the Grotto.
