St. Declan's feast day is July 24th and situated along the cliffs at Ardmore is St. Declan's Well, a place of healing in pagan times.

Crosses at St. Declans Thumbnail St. Declan's well, situated at the beginning of the cliff walk, served as a baptistery to the early Christian missionaries at the nearby St. Declan's hermitage. As the fame of it's healing powers gre, people would bathe injured limbs in the water of the spring.

This was where Declan retired for greater seclusion to a little cell which he made himself, at the spot where there is now the runined church beside the Holy Well. The Ardmore St. Declan's Mass is still celebrated at this tranquil place every year.
