Ballysaggart Community Festival

The Ballysaggart Community Festival starts tonight and continues until Sunday August 3rd. The festival will be full of great fun and entertainment with events to suit young and old. There will be fantastic food with a great night of Open Air Dancing and much more.  

Thursday July 31st

Car Treasure Hunt at 8.00pm starting outside Meagher's Shop with a charge of €10.00 per car.

Table Quiz at 9.30pm in Meagher's Bar with quizmaster Edward Lynch. A table of four is €20.00.

Friday August 1st

Open Air Cross Road Dancing and BBQ in the Ballysaggart Community Centre Grounds. Music is by Teddy Barry & Cathal starting at 9.30pm and the food is at 10.30pm. Entry fee is Adults €12.00 and U12 €6.00.

Saturday August 2nd 

Hurling and Camogie Tournament for girls and boys underage staring at 11.00am.

Adult Hurling Match takes place at 7.30pm.

Live Music takes place in Meagher's Bar at 9.30pm.

Sunday August 3rd

Gala Day with Vintage Rally takes place in the GAA field. Entry fee is €7.00 and Children are free with open sports beginning at 1.30pm.

  • Best Dressed Lady and Gent
  • Tug O'War
  • Long Puck
  • Children's Face Painting

Side Show Events include:

  • Vintage Rally & Threshing Display of Vintage Tractors, Cars, Motorbikes and Machinery.

  • Bouncy Castle
  • Guess the number of blocks in the trailer
  • Guess Who
  • Spinning Wheel
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Home Food Produce Stall
  • Flowers & Plants

Entertainment by the famous Richie Kavanagh at 2.00pm.

The Ballyduff/Ballysaggart Macra club are holding a Macra Competition in conjunction with the festival with teams of three with €30.00 per team to enter. Tasks to include Beef Stockjudging, Tractor & Trailer Obstacle Course, Stacking Bales, Eataton and Obstacle Course.

There will also be a Fancy Dress Parade on the Sunday evening at 8.00pm starting at 8.00pm outside Sean Roche's Shop with Children and Adults Fancy Dress. Refreshments will also be available throughout Sunday and the weekend will be finished off with the Grand Raffle and Live Music in Meagher's Bar by Pat Heskin.
