With a choice of mountainous hinterland or a cluster of seaside resorts, County Waterford's towns and villages are well worth a visit.

Each one has a unique character and something to recommend it to the visitor. Some places are off the beaten track and reward the visitor with a different facet of Ireland's countryside. Some places are more geared to visitors and never a dull moment takes place.

You will see a mention of 'Pubs' in most of the areas - this is because you can often get a cup of coffee or a pot of tea in an Irish pub as well as the more traditional beverages. They are also great places for finding out what is going on locally, some will have 'Ceol & Craic' nights when music, singing and dancing might take place - phone ahead to check.
