Knockanore is a rural village situated approximately 9 miles from the coastal town of Youghal, County Cork and Tallow, County Waterford
The name 'Knockanore' is taken from the Irish 'Cnoc na Fhómhair' or 'Cnoc na Óir' which translates as 'The Hill of Autumn/Gold', in relation to the numerous furze (gorse) bushes that once grew in the area.
