The Millennium Park was opened in May 2002 and has since become a tranquil setting for many tourists and locals alike to sit, relax and enjoy the many wonderful features within.

Millennium Park With seating benches set throughout the park, you can sit at any angle and admire the many amazing feature dotted about. The main water feature is the cast metal fountain in the centre, which has three bowls that form a rippling effect and ornate figures entwined together on top.

The cascading waterfall flows elegantly under the stone bridge and in the corner one of the most unusual features is the Ice House. The Ice House was used to store salmon caught in the local river until it was ready to sell on. The Victorian designed gazebo offers a wonderful view of the park and because the park was intended as a commemoration of the Millennium, an obelisk stands in the centre of one of the pathways.

A visit to the park would not be complete without stopping to admire the wood carving of St. Carthage, the saint of Lismore. Carved from a beech tree, Welch chainsaw sculpture Nancy Hemming depicted drawings and sayings beneath the magnificent statue.
