Cliffs, Coves and Mountains Cycling Tour

The Cliffs, Coves and Mountains cycling tour takes you through County Waterford beginning your journey in the small village of Clashmore on the west of the county before ending the journey in Waterford city. From Clashmore you take the R671 until you reach another village in the west called Aglish and then onto Villierstown. Going through Villierstown on the way to Cappoquin you will come across the Gothic Hindu Dromana Bridge. The tour takes you back on the N72 through Cappoquin travelling along the River Blackwater until you reach Lismore. Before you entered the town, turn right and follow the signs to The Vee, where you will witness some of the most breathtaking scenery.

From here follow the signs until you reach Newcastle and from here turn right onto the R671 until you come to Ballymacarbry. The road is straight on from here with a few climbs on the way until you come to the N72 and from here you continue your cycle until you reach Dungarvan. When you come to the first roundabout in Dungarvan take the first exit and from here you go straight through four more roundabouts and then turn right. From here follow the signs for Stradbally and enjoy the coastal view as you ascend and descend the roads ahead. Continue along the road from Stradbally, turning right on the R675 until you reach the next town of Bunmahon .

Cycling northeast on the R675 you will come into the fishing village of Annestown and from here turn right to stay on the R675 and travel on for about 5km until you come to the seaside town of  Tramore. On leaving Tramore the next town is the idyllic Dunmore East, you cycle on the R685 for about 6km then turning right continuing on for a further 1.5km until you reach Dunmore East. On leaving the fishing village of Dunmore East, head up along the coast road where you will be met with wonderful views and cycle on until you reach Passage East. Take the first left onto the R683 and travel on for about 6km going through one roundabout until you reach your finishing point at Waterford City.
