Tourin House and Gardens is surrounded by parkland of mature and rare trees set on the many acres overlooking the River Blackwater.Tourin House and Gardens The Italianate style house was built in 1840 with one of the main features of the house being the fine double oak staircase, winding its way up in the Main Hall. Out the door and follow the path and it will lead you to Tourin Quay where in the years gone by many vessels sailed carrying cargos coal, iron ore and many other produce. With beech, oak, yew, cedar as well as a fine collection of camellias, magnolias and azaleas, Tourin Garden is rich in colour and beauty the year round. A walled garden also holds many types of fruit, vegetables, cutting flowers and many different bearded irises. Visible from the garden is Tourin Castle but cannot be entered and standing next to it is the remains of an early Georgian E shaped house.
