Passage East is an ancient port town closely associated with pivotal moments in Irish history.

It was here that Strongbow came ashore in 1170 to consolidate the Anglo-Norman foothold in Ireland, with Henry II landing in 1171. It is now a peaceful, charming fishing village in Waterford Harbour and can be found on the East Waterford Gaultier Coast Drive. There is a ferry that can be taken from Passage East to Ballyhack in County Wexford, linking passage to the hook peninsula, and Rosslare.

Passage East has many fine Pubs and Bars where visitors can enjoy a quiet drink and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.

Passage East provides a Car Ferry for visitors wishing to travel along the coast to the hook head peninsula.

The East Waterford Gaultier Coast Drive is a beautiful peninsular drive contained by Waterford Harbour on one side and magnificent Tramore Bay on the other.

Take in the history and scenery of Passage East with a Walk in the surrounding area.
