The Sean Kelly Tour needs you!
Date: 18 Jul 2008
Following on from the great success of the 2007 Sean Kelly Tour preparations are now well underway for August 24th and the 2008 tour.
Over 120 people volunteered in 2007 and both volunteers and participants know what it takes to organise a successful event of this nature. In a survey of the volunteers for the 2007 event, which was completed by Waterford Institute of Technology, 97% of volunteers said they would be interested in volunteering again and all the respondants said they would encourage others to volunteer for the event. It could not have happened without this massive volunteer effort. 2008 will be no different. Here’s what some of last years’s volunteers had to say after the event; ‘It surpassed my expectations’, Alll praise to all concerned, a very enjoyable day for all’, ‘Good to be involved in such a big event’.
We are now inviting you to be part of one of the biggest and most exciting participatory events in Waterford’s 2008 calendar. Do you want to be part of our 150 strong volunteer team, helping to create an enjoyable experience for the participants, promoting our beautiful county and having lots of fun along the way? If so read on…
There are lots of areas to choose from and we will need help not only on the day but also in the days leading up to it and the days immediately after the event. Some of the areas in which we need volunteers include administration & registration, stewarding, catering, erection of signage, support vehicles, mechanical support, first aid, entertainment and traffic management and parking. Some of the locations in which volunteers will be required include Dungarvan, Cappoquin, Lismore, Leamybrien, Mahon Bridge, Mahon Falls, Kilrossanty, Kilbrien, Carrick-on-Suir, Glencomeragh, Clonmel, Ballymacarbry and Rathgormack.
If you, or someone you know, is interested in becoming a volunteer for the Sean Kelly Tour 2008 please contact the Waterford Sports Partnership office at 058 21194 or 051 849855 to register as a volunteer or download the Sean Kelly volunteer registration form from the Volunteer Section of the website and return to Rosarie Kealy, Waterford Sports Partnership, Civic Offices, Dungarvan, Co.
